What does Glossopdale Foodbank do?
Glossopdale Foodbank is a local independent registered charity and CIO that provides emergency food for individuals and families experiencing financial crisis. In 2025, we provided around 40,000 meals to people in our community, along with essential cleaning products, toiletries and period items.
We support people to improve their financial stability by referring individuals and families—always with their consent—to relevant services that can help increase income, reduce debts, and offer wider support.
We also work closely with surplus food projects across Glossopdale to ensure that people accessing the Foodbank can benefit from fresh, perishable food such as fruit and vegetables, bakery items and dairy. In addition, we can signpost clients to local food clubs free of charge, enabling them to access affordable fresh food on a regular basis.
Glossopdale Foodbank is affiliated to IFAN (The Independent Food Aid Network), a UK wide network supporting independent food aid providers. IFAN campaigns for a future where emergency food aid is no longer needed and works nationally to address the root causes of poverty.
